Having previously tuned this car at THANAS/STG2-K04 level, we recently retuned it for high octane, taking it to THANAS/STG2+K04 level. The salient points are:
Stock K04-064 Turbo
Stock K04-064 Turbo Actuator
Stock BWA Motor
Stock DQ250-DSG Clutches
The ECU and TCU were custom calibrated to ensure the highest possible power output and performance on the street, while maintaining the same level of reliability.
Once we were happy with the progress, the car was sent off to the dyno for a power run, at Dynotech, the accepted standard for Cape Town.
Power: 280 kW
Torque: 564 Nm
Demonstrating quick spool, a broad powerband with 500 Nm before 3000 rpm, and power all the way to redline, this is the embodiment of 'area under the curve'.
Not just a dyno queen, as this Mk5 GTI has a Jojo tank in his back-yard full of Mk7 GTi, Clubsport and R tears, in case Day Zero makes a return. #7Slayer.
Stay tuned as we're definitely not done with this one yet, with more fuelling mods and an uprated actuator on the way, we're looking to see how far the stock setup will take us.
