THANAS MK7 GTI Stock to Stage 3 Build
This blog post will detail the build of our VW Golf 7 GTI build from stock to stage 3, as we do everything from aesthetics to hardware mods and custom (actual custom) software tuning, all done by us, in-house, join us!
Stock:
Our G7 was purchased from first uowner, it was kept in immaculate condition and 100% stock (apart from the tail-pieces), the spec level was as follows:
- Year: 2014
- Transmission: 6 - Speed DSG (DQ-250 MQB)
- Mileage: 50k kms
- Colour: White (should be fairly obvious from the pics)
- Turbo: IS20 (Stock)
- Spec Level: Lighting Package / Sunroof / Kessy (Non PP)
This is definitely the shortest chapter of the car's life, as it stayed stock for all of 2 weeks, people who know the MQB platform, and have done any kind of datalogging will know exactly how lean these cars run from the factory. In addition, the coolant temperature set-points cause unnecessarily high oil temps, and in line with our philosophy that fast cars should be able to be driven hard all the time without failure, having a car running a lean-burn approach under boost is just not going to do!
